At Mattex, we stand with our local police department.
As proud supporters of our local community, we were deeply concerned with WCIA’s insensitive story on May 21st. As a result, effective May 22nd, Mattex halted all advertising with WCIA. In each subsequent conversation with the news station, we have encouraged WCIA to take action to repair their relationship with the broader community and ensure they continue to serve as a trusted local news source.
But we want to ensure the conversations taking place in the coming days remain focused on the brave sacrifice of Officer Oberheim. We are in a season of mourning as a community, and we know the most important thing we can do is to rally behind the Oberheim family and our local police force at large during this difficult time.
Mattex will be donating the cost of our advertising with WCIA to the Chris Oberheim Memorial GoFundMe page, and encourage our local community members to join us in supporting the Oberheim family.
